From Shirley's log...
I put on my "elephant washing clothes" (any wet clothes I had from rafting). Dan go a good chuckle as I continued to get more excited. A whole crew of us wandered down to the river but no one was dressed to wash an elephant. Once at the river, the guide asked who would like to go first. I voluntered and was very surprised to learn I'd have to get on the elephant. This was too cool. Since we arrived I've been trying to think of a way I could persuade one of the guides to let me get on the elephant. This was far too easy. Others may not think so as I got quite wet. The elephant would use the trunk to splash it's sides then with one good blow, got me quite wet as he threw his trunk over his head. This is definitely the most memorable part of my experience here at Chitwan.
This iconic scene was also photographed by Grant who sold it to a number of clients.
