The North-American nettle has nothing on the stinging-nettle Shirley encountered in Nepal. She fell off the trail into a large stinging-nettle and immediate jumped out and started felling the pain. This photo was taken half-an-hour after initial contact. Pouring ice-cold water on it didn't seem to alleviate the pain and rubbing it only exacerbated the stinging hairs still stuck in the skin. By the next morning her leg was numb. After five days, the affects started to wear off.
